The Washington State Farmers Market Association, c/o The Cascade Harvest Coalition, 4649 Sunnyside Avenue North, Room 123, Seattle, 425.610.9487, supports and promotes vibrant and sustainable farmers markets throughout Washington State in order “to develop healthy communities and a sustainable local food system.”  The Association’s data base of farmers markets may be searched by “clicking on a carrot” on an interactive map or by searching (i) one of 89 cities (from Airway Heights to Yakima), (ii) one of 39 counties (from Adams to Yakima) or (iii) by day of operation or (iv) by payment options.  The Association also provides a wealth of information for persons or organizations who manage farmers markets including (1) insurance information for market managers, (2) food stamps and EBT at farmers markets, (3) vendor scales at farmers markets, and (4) a farmer friendly banking program.

The Farmers Market Coalition  maintains a Resource Library for farmers, managers of farmers market, market researchers, and organizations which sponsor or are looking to start farmers markets.  The Coalition’s database of resources “were developed by a wide spectrum of organizations, agencies and academic institutions” and it recognizes “the spirit of sharing” which allows it to make the resources available in one searchable portal.
